About
Our Belief
GreenDwell was established in 2009, providing architectural design and consultancy services for sustainability and wellbeing.
Sustainable design is sometimes perceived to be largely linked to energy and environmental aspects of architecture. We believe a human side of sustainability should always be considered, as how people experience space through time defines architecture which is a delight to the five senses and hence people’s wellbeing.
Yoo-Yen-Pen-Sook is a Thai old saying, which links a thermally comfortable living (physical comfort) with a sense of comfort in terms of peace of mind, similar to the term ‘dwell’, which does not only mean ‘to live’ but also shows psychological sense of comfort. It is a designer’s responsibility is to ensure that the space is ‘dwell-able’. Architectural quality can be evaluated not at the moment it is looked at, but rather, throughout the time spent in such space.
Our Service
| Architectural Design
We provide design services for all building types and integrating feasible sustainable ideas in the design from conceptual through construction.
| Interior Design
We offer interior design services for our architectural design projects and those which focus on sustainability and wellbeing.
| ESD and Green Building Consultancy
We provide consultancy services for developers or architects working on green projects and for buildings pursuing green building certification such as LEED, Green Mark, or TREES. Our scopes include green strategies feasibility study, environmental analysis, energy simulation, daylight-lighting performance, ventilation simulation, facade environmental study.
Our Process
Our green research-integrated design (g.r.i.d) process helps us to hypothesize the various senses that people may experience after the building is constructed. With computer simulation tools – our ‘sensual experience tester’ – we are able to check the sensual performance since early design phase, such as, visual, thermal, or acoustic comfort, alongside checking the building’s environmental impacts, making sure that we are creating an experience which is a delight to the senses while minimizing negative effects onto the environment.
The firm’s directors are Raksak Sukontatarm and Siritip Harntaweewongsa, who have work experience in international design firms in the US and Hong Kong. They have worked with several sustainable projects in the US and Asia as a design architect and a sustainable design consultant.

Siritip was inspired by the concepts of climate-responsive design which led her to pursue a graduate degree in Sustainable Design Technology in the US. She has worked in both architectural design and research-consulting field related to green building in the US and Hong Kong before coming back to Thailand to co-found GreenDwell with Raksak, with the focus on design which enhances wellbeing through integrated design process.
Siritip is a visiting professor for Tropical Architectural Design, Sustainable Design Studio, and Building Simulation for leading universities and organizations. Her teaching emphasizes the integration of sustainability consideration in architectural design process and how they can enhance people’s wellbeing while reducing negative impacts to the environment.
